Notice Regarding Legislative Changes Affecting Division of Consumer Protection Registrations


During the 2026 General Legislative Session, the Legislature passed SB 38, which takes effect on May 6, 2026. This bill modifies registration and compliance requirements for the statutes enforced by the Division.

SB 38 Notice to Maintenance Funding Providers

New: Online Application

Starting February 23, 2026 all Maintenance Funding Provider applications must be submitted through our online application portal.

All online applicants must have a UtahID to access our application system. Instructions for creating a UtahID account can be found here: https://dts.utah.gov/idhelp/

Once applicants have created a UtahID, they can begin the online application process at https://utahdoc.mylicenseone.com/.

How to set up your UtahID account in two steps:

Step 1: Create a UtahID Account

  1. Go to the UtahID website: https://idhelp.utah.gov/
  2. Click on "Account Creation"
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your username/email and password
 

Step 2: Link your UtahID to your License

  1. Log out of the UtahID website.
  2. Go to the Online Application Portal: https://utahdoc.mylicenseone.com/
  3. Log in using your new UtahID username/email and password.
  4. Locate the "Existing License/Registration Holders" section.
        • Your license may already be listed here.
        • If not, enter your license/registration number and registration code to search for it.
        • Your registration number is located on your renewal notice.
