No, state law requires on-the-job work hours and school hours/grades be met before one is approved to take the exam.
A: The "Construction Electrician" Red Seal Certification is considered equivalent to the Utah Journeyman Electrician License. Applicants must use the endorsement pathway to apply for the Journeyman Electrician License and are required to have held the "Construction Electrician" Red Seal Certification for a minimum of one year prior to submitting their application.ย
The "Industrial Electrician" Red Seal Certification is not recognized by the State of Utah as being equivalent to the Utah Journeyman Electrician License.ย

- Utah Journeyman Electrician Written Exam (Theory): This exam can be taken remotely from home or any location in the U.S. To register, applicants must select the "UT Jurisdiction" on the PROV site and select the location to test as "examroomAI" as the testing location. - Utah Electrician Practical Exam (6 modules): This exam requires in-person attendance and must be taken at an approved Utah Prov testing center.
