Plumbing

The following requirements must be met:

• Completion of a plumber's apprenticeship education program (576 classroom hours).
• 8,000 hours of licensed plumbing experience working under the supervision of a licensed journeyman or master plumber.
• Pass the Utah Plumber Theory and Practical exams.

-OR-

• 16,000 hours of licensed plumber experience working under the supervision of a licensed journeyman or master plumber.
• Pass the Utah Plumber Theory and Practical exams.

To see if you qualify for a license by endorsement from another state, review the Journeyman Plumber Endorsement to Utah map. If the state you are licensed in shows no equivalent license to Utah, you will need to meet the licensing requirements above.

If the state you are licensed in shows an equivalent to the Utah license, request a Verification of Licensure from your state's licensing authority. Upload the verification as a document during your online application, or have it emailed to [email protected].
