Apply for a Residential Master Plumber License
Military Resources: If you are a military member or military spouse, please review our Military Resources page before applying.
The following requirements must be met:
- 4,000 hours of licensed Residential Journeyman Plumber as a supervisor.
- 4,000 hours of work experience as a licensed Residential Journeyman Plumber.
- Pass the Utah Master Plumber Law and Rule exam.
-OR-
- Hold at least an Associate of Applied Science degree or similar degree from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- 2,000 hours of licensed Residential Journeyman Plumber as a supervisor.
- Pass the Utah Master Plumber Law and Rule exam.
Out-of-State Application by Endorsement
To see if you qualify for a license by endorsement from another state, review the Residential Master Plumber Endorsement to Utah map. If the state you are licensed in shows no equivalent license to Utah, you will need to meet the licensing requirements above.
If the state you are licensed in shows an equivalent to the Utah license, request a Verification of Licensure from your state's licensing authority. Upload the verification as a document during your online application, or have it emailed to [email protected].
All applicants will be required to pass the Utah Master Plumber Law and Rule exam.
