Examination Information
The Private Investigator profession has four classification; Agent, Agency, Registrant, and Apprentice. The Private Investigator Agent is the only classification that requires an exam at this time. For more information on this exam, please review the information in the tab below.
Private Investigator Agent
The Utah Private Investigator Agent Law and Ethics Examination consists of 100 questions. A scaled score of 75 is required to pass. The examination is administered by Prov and costs $85.
The examination is available through at-home testing and at 18 live testing centers throughout Utah. This is an open-book examination, and candidates may bring printed reference materials into the testing session where permitted.
