Education and Specific Coursework Requirements (Transcript Evaluation)
To qualify for full licensure as a Psychologist, you must first obtain your Certified Psychology Resident License, complete a minimum of 4,000 hours of supervised psychological training, and pass the examination requirement established by division rule. The period of time necessary to complete this clinical training cannot extend more than one year from the date the minimum training requirement is met. In order to qualify for a Certified Psychology Resident:
You must obtain an official course-by-course evaluation of your international educational credentials from a member institution of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
- This evaluation must deem your education equivalent to a Doctoral degree in psychology from an institution of higher education whose doctoral program, at the time the applicant received the doctoral degree, met approval criteria established by division rule made in consultation with the board.
- The evaluation report must be sent directly from the NACES member institution to the Utah Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL).

Specific Coursework
To review your transcripts (Credential evaluation report), DOPL will require you to fill out an educational requirement form and provide course descriptions/Syllabi for specific subjects from your Doctorate program. A meeting with the board will then be necessary to evaluate your qualifications for licensure.

- Program as a Distinct Entity: Evidence that the psychology program is a distinct, recognizable entity within the institution.
- Integrated and Organized Study: Documentation that the program offers an integrated and organized sequence of study planned to provide appropriate training for the practice of psychology.
- Graduate-Level Coursework: Affirmation that the program consists of only graduate-level courses, with no coursework counted or credited toward an undergraduate degree.
- Full-Time Faculty: Documentation of identifiable full-time faculty.
- Designated Program Lead: Evidence of a designated full-time faculty member responsible for the program.
- Identifiable Student Body: Proof of an identifiable body of students who are matriculated in the program for a degree.
- Examination and Grading Procedures: Description of the program's examination and
grading procedures designed to evaluate the degree of mastery of the subject matter.
