Department of Commerce Announces Appointment of Two New Division Directors

[Salt Lake City] — Executive Director Margaret Woolley Busse announced the appointment of two Division Directors for the Utah Department of Commerce: Leigh Veillette as the Director of the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code, and Jason Sterzer as Director of the Division of Securities.

“As the best place for business in the United States, the Department of Commerce needs seasoned leaders to keep pace with our dynamic economy,” said Director Busse. “I am confident we have that with our two new Division Directors.”

About Leigh Veillette
Leigh was a Commerce Analyst with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. Prior to assuming the Commerce Analyst role, Leigh served as an Investigator with the Division and as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Chris M. Comer in the 23rd Judicial Circuit of Alabama. She is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law and Auburn University, but remains a loyal Auburn fan. Leigh is married and resides in Sandy, Utah.

About Jason Sterzer
Jason Sterzer previously served as the Director of the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code for three years, as well as Interim Director of the Division of Securities for the past six months. Previously, he held positions within the Division of Securities as Securities Examiner and Securities Enforcement Analyst. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Sterzer is married with three children and resides in Salt Lake City, Utah.
