Constable Licensing Coming in 2027

Effective May 6, 2026, the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL) became the regulatory agency for constables under the newly enacted Constables Licensing Act, Utah Code 58-91. All constables must be licensed with DOPL beginning January 1, 2027, and all deputy constables must be licensed with DOPL beginning July 1, 2027. DOPL will oversee licensing and enforcement for the profession.
