Exam Information
There are five classifications in the Massage Therapy profession. The exam requirements for each can be found in the tabs below.
Massage Apprentice
There are now exam requirements for this profession.
Massage Assistant
The following exam is administered by DOPL's contracted exam vendor, Prov. More information is available by reviewing the section below labeled, "Scheduling an Exam".

Massage Assistant In-Training
There are not exam requirements for this classification.
Submit a passing scores for each of the following exams.
- MBLEX
The Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx) is administered by the Federation of Massage Therapy State Boards (FMTSB), a national organization supporting state massage therapy regulators.
Candidate Handbook
Schedule the MBLEXNote: DOPL will accept passing scores from any of the following exams, instead of the MBLEX, if taken before February 1, 2015: National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work (NCETMB); National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage (NCETM); National Examination for State Licensure (NESL)
- Utah Massage Therapy Law and Rule Examination
