Welcome
NEW!
Beginning May 7, 2025, suppliers of Mental Health Chatbots may file a registration policy with the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL).
- A “Mental Health Chatbot” is defined as an artificial intelligence technology that uses generative artificial intelligence to engage in interactive conversations with a user similar to the confidential communications that an individual would have with a licensed mental health therapist; and a supplier represents, or a reasonable person would believe, is designed to diagnose, treat, or otherwise improve a user's mental health.
- The legal definitions and policy requirements can be found in Utah State Code 13-72a and Utah State Code 58-60-118
