Use Your Military Background Toward a Utah License

Utah's military licensing crosswalk helps veterans and current service members see how documented military training and experience compare with the requirements for a Utah credential.

How to Use the Program

  1. Find your starting point: Search by your military specialty code or formal title, or start with the Utah credential you want.
  2. Review the determination: See whether military education, experience, or examinations meet or advance the Utah requirements.
  3. Open the full crosswalk: Use the PDF for the complete comparison, legal authorities, military sources, and practical licensing path.
  4. Apply with your records: Submit the DOPL application and the military records needed to document the training or experience credited by the determination.
A crosswalk is not a license. DOPL reviews each application and credits relevant military background based on the published equivalency determination under Utah Code § 58-1-313.

What the Crosswalk Contains

  • Military Specialty: The service branch, formal code and title, entry training, and tasks relevant to licensure.
  • Utah Credential: The education, experience, examination, and other requirements for the credential being compared.
  • Published Determination: The result for each requirement, the practical path to licensure, and the supporting Utah and military authorities.
Every determination shown here is manually entered from the Division's crosswalk document. The search filters those determinations. It does not generate a new comparison.
