No, state law requires that on-the-job work hours and school hours/grades be met before one is approved to take the exam.
The Plumber Red Seal Certification is considered equivalent to the Utah Journeyman Plumber License. Applicants must use the endorsement pathway to apply for the Journeyman Plumber License and are required to have held the Plumber Red Seal Certification for a minimum of one year prior to submitting their application.Â

To become a licensed plumber in the State of Utah, applicants must pass the following two examinations:
- Utah Journeyman Plumber Written Exam (Theory): This exam can be taken remotely from home or any location in the U.S. To register, applicants must select the "UT Jurisdiction" on the PROV site and select the location to test as "examroomAI" as the testing location. - Utah Plumber Practical Exam: This exam requires in-person attendance and must be taken at an approved Utah Prov testing center.
