Pathway to Utah Licensure for Internationally Trained Journeyman Plumbers
Information for internationally trained plumbers seeking licensure as a Journeyman Plumber in Utah with the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL). To qualify, applicants must follow the steps outlined below. Please read carefully to ensure you understand all requirements.
Remediation & Apprentice License
If an applicant for licensure as a journeyman plumber does not have sufficient work experience or education, the applicant will be allowed to fulfill these requirements by completing one of the following:
- Working under an employer or licensed supervisor as a licensed apprenticeÂ
- Take remediation courses from an approved institution. For more information, please contact the ITAC team.

Appendix
(36)"Journeyman plumber" means a person licensed under this chapter as a journeyman plumber having the qualifications, training, experience, and technical knowledge to engage in the plumbing trade.
