Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) Update

We recently proposed removing the strict requirement for instructors to attend a Division-sponsored Instructor Development Workshop (IDW). The Commission is open to this change and is willing to update the rules to provide more flexible options for initial instructor qualification and renewal.

Here is where things stand:

Immediate Action: We are placing an immediate "stay" (pause) on the IDW requirement for all new applications and renewals. Because the current IDW format no longer meets modern instructor needs, this requirement is waived effective immediately.
Next Steps: We will present proposed rule updates offering alternative pathway options to the Real Estate and Mortgage Commissions and Appraisal Board at their upcoming meetings.
