Utah State Hair Safety Course and Examination

To obtain your Hair Safety Permit you will be required to take a two-hour course and receive a score of 75% or higher on the accompanying exam.

Your score will be electronically delivered to the Division. The Division will process your exam and issue the Hair Safety Permit to the email address you provided to our exam vendor during your registration. What to Expect

The Integrated Competency Assessment (ICA) is the exam format used to evaluate both your knowledge and your ability to perform key skills within a specific subject area.

For each subject area, you will answer a set of multiple-choice questions and then complete a related hands-on demonstration within a service.

This process repeats for each subject area of the exam.
