Plumbing

The following requirements must be met before applying for a license:

• 4,000 hours of licensed Journeyman Plumber experience as a supervisor.
• Pass the Utah Master Plumber Law and Rule Examination.

-OR-

• Associates of Applied Science degree or a similar degree from an institution recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
• 2,000 hours of licensed Journeyman Plumber experience as a supervisor.
• Pass the Utah Master Plumber Law and Rule Examination.

To see if you qualify for a license by endorsement from another state, review the Master Plumber Endorsement to Utah map. If the state you are licensed in shows no equivalent license to Utah, you will need to meet the licensing requirements above.

If the state you are licensed in shows an equivalent to the Utah license, request a Verification of Licensure from your state's licensing authority. Upload the verification as a document during your online application, or have it emailed to [email protected].
